UNP will show its might on May Day, says Ravi K

As much as 90 per cent of the UNP supporters who had deserted the party for numerous reasons are now prepared to come back, claimed party leader for Colombo Ravi Karunanayake.

Together with them and the working people, the UNP will show its strength to the country on May Day, said Karunanayake, also a former finance minister at a media briefing this morning (04).

He also said that the most powerful and extensive political alliance will be unveiled at the most appropriate time that will work to elect incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe as the president, build the country and empower the people.

That alliance is taking shape with talent committed to the purpose, he said, adding that groupings without any vision or programme are meaningful.

Karunanayake went onto say the people had no use of alliances without any basis that are mushrooming for petty political and power gains.

They collapse faster than they emerge, he said.

Every time the UNP was strong and powerful, the country gained development, and the contrary happened when it was weak, said the UNP strongman.
