The government has made major strides towards transforming the economy while making growth more inclusive during the past 19 months as it cannot afford another economic crisis of magnitude in 2022.
But much remains to be done to create a better future for all Sri Lankans, former finance minister Ravi Karunanayake stated, adding that a unique opportunity is now opened to implement permanent structural reforms that may be difficult under normal circumstances.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (14) met the UNP management committee and made several appointments.
Main among them is the appointment of Ravi Karunanayake as the convenor of a new UNP-led alliance.
Wickremesinghe’s presidential campaign manager will be Harin Fernando.
ඉදිරි ජාතික මැතිවරණයක් හමුවේ විවිධ සැලසුම් සකස් කරමින් සිටින ජනාධිපති රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ,
එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ කළමනාකරණ මණ්ඩලයේ අනුමැතියෙන් ඊයේ (13) නව තනතුරු ගණනාවක් පත් කර ඇති බව අනාවරණය වේ.
මෙයින් ප්‍රමුඛතම තනතුර ලෙස එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ සන්ධානයේ කැඳවුම්කරු යනුවෙන් නව තනතුරක් ඇති කර එය රවී කරුණානායකට ලබා දී ඇති බව හෙළි වේ. එජාප මුලිකත්වයෙන් ගොඩනගන නව සන්ධානයේ මුලික වගකීම් ඔහුට පවරා තිබෙන බව වාර්තාවේ.
